Interesting .... the difference between the 15mm competition results and the 28mm results.
So many more Draws in the 28mm event. But knowing many of the 28mm (& 15mm) players I'd suggest there was not a great difference in relation to experience between the two sets, and obviously both were subject to the same list restrictions. Were the 15mm players just more 'aggressive' in their playing style maybe. Or is there more room to maneuver on a 15mm table in comparison with a 28mm table (just a thought).
However, it does makes me wonder whether there was a specific deciding factor that created so many draws in the 28mm event
Maybe it's just the weight of the figures, tiring the arms of their owners and slowing play
But well done to all ... nice to see some overseas visitors at a big UK event. _________________ 'He could have lived a risk-free, moneyed life, but he preferred to whittle away his fortune on warfare.' Xenophon, The Anabasis |

You see the same pattern everywhere that 15mm and 28mm are offered.
My guess is that its becuase 28mm players have all spent much longer painting, and spent much more on buying their figures than the 15mm players - so as a result they are generally less inclined to put them in actual physical danger, and much more focussed on simply putting them on table and admiring them.
The idea of playing games to a conclusion within 2.5 hours is also, well, rather ungentlemanly, or perhaps even a little unseemly for the average more sophisticated 28mm player.
Anyways, here is Don McHugh, 28mm winner, passing one of his pair of Palmyran Cataphracts as he drives back home along the A303 past Axminster in his red Ford Mondeo, with the WAR Trophy safely nestled in amongst the rolls of top quality underlay in his back seat.
