Hello all,
I'm a new joiner and new to ADLG. Some of my club mates are fans and so I'm joining them. I've rebased some figures for ADLG to make a Lancastrian Wars of the Roses army. My theme is the Lancastrian forces at Mortimer's cross.
Van
James Butler, Earl of Wiltshire (integrated Competent) 0
1 Foot Knights 12 (12)
2 Retinue billman + armour 11 (22)
4 Retinue Archers (Longbow Elite) 10 (40)
74 pts
Main
Jasper Tudor, Earl of Pembroke (integrated Competent) 0
1 Foot Knights 12 (12)
2 Retinue billman + armour 11 (22)
4 Retinue Archers (Longbow Elite) 10 (40)
74 pts
Rear
Owen Tudor (integrated Competent) 0
1 Foot Knights Elite 14 (14)
2 Welsh Spearmen 7 (14)
3 Welsh Archers 8 (24)
52 pts
I'd like to add some french Crossbowmen and Irish Kerns to Butler's command as that's historical and would provide options or a start towards 300 points. I might also mix the Tudor commands in play. I've no idea how this will all play out but it's what I have, so at least I'll get to play and learn.
I have based all my troops on 1 UD square bases for now. I'll do light infantry on 60x30mm. I think the type and number of figures per base shows the base type well enough, so I don't imagine this will be an issue when playing locally. I've not been a competition gamer in the past, but never say never, so I'm wondering if this alternative basing is something others do, or would it be a problem in tournament games? |

I have run into a couple of players who do this (all or most on 1 UD x 1 UD) and it seems to work fine. |

Thanks Kevin, that's encouraging. I like the chunky bases. I've started doing some Numdians the same now, with cavalry, imitation legionaries and Javelinmen on 60x60 but light infantry on 60x30.
