hiya
something came up at warfare last week, and although i agreed with the ruling, i had a niggling feeling it might have gone the other way. so:
i had a hch in frontal contact with a mi element. the enemy also had a hch in contact with my flank. i lost the melee by 1 pip, and claimed armour for the draw. armour section only mentions opponent (singular) and i took that to mean the enemy in contact with my front. also, flanking unit doesnt get any special abilities in the combat.
however, was the intention for the armour section to be opponents (plural) ? note, that if i had only been flanked, i wouldnt have been able to claim the armour benefit.
your thoughts? |

In a melee, one unit is the “main unit†and any friends are units in support (either simple support or melee support).
The melee outcome is calculated with respect to the main unit.Â
If a supporting unit has armour but your main unit does not, your main unit can not claim armour if it loses the melee. |
