Should this list allow for an all mounted option?
Some armies Han Wudi sent deep into the Gobi to fight the Xiongnu were recorded as being all cavalry formation as were some of those sent into the Tarim basin. These were not small scouting or raiding parties but armies of multiple tens of thousands of cavalry that fought major battles.
Maybe after 133 BC, replace all infantry and chariots with Cavalry: HC, MC or LC Bw. (Maybe allow 0-4 of these to be upgraded to Elite as long serving veterans.) Xiongnu or Xianbei allies are allowed as is Ban Chao as a Strategist and a fortified camp. (Huo Qubing would also be a good candidate for a Strategist, but perhaps, after leading several brilliant campaigns, he died too young to be considered.)
While Han Chinese cavalry did use Crossbows, they also made extensive use of bows as they imitated the nomads. I am unsure if these cavalry armies dispatched in the Gobi and Taklamakan actually used crossbows. They had a very strong tradition of mounted horse archery, Dong Zhuo’s skill as a horse archer was noted when he joined the Han army. The Han generally had better armor and fought in tighter formations than the Xiongnu and were described as superior in shock actions, so the option to be mostly HC Bw seems reasonable. |

If you compile all your lists edits proposed for V5 into a word document i will ensure it gets to where it is needed. Probably will earn you a future role in chinese lists like one Byzantine expert impact byzantine list. |

FWIW I think having periodic updates of lists (but not rules) to reflect better research and scholarship would be a good thing for the game. |
