You can now watch a replay of a game of L'Art de la Guerre played on Tabletop Simulator between two very different Justinian Byzantine armies, as featured in the Madaxeman Podcast.

Thankfully (as anyone who's actually watched a tabletop wargame before will know) the gameplay has been speeded up significantly such that the whole battle plays out in about 20 minutes of onscreen time, and it also features a running commentary provided by the players (Tim & Dave), which attempts to make sense of whats happening and what each of them was trying to achieve.

In addition there's a short discussion of the lists being used, and a mercifully brief post-match chat as well where we deconstruct all of the "action".

You can also watch the original podcast in which these two lists were put forward on the Madaxeman YouTube channel, with a link to the podcast at the end of the video.

This was really well done.

I like yours and Phil’s battle reports, but the fast motion YouTube game with commentary was great.

I liked how each of the players laid out their overall strategy, what they were trying to achieve operationally and tactically and then how things (the dice) went along with or frustrated these plans. Thanks.

I wish you’d do some more in V4.
