                    | Camps are classified as units, so can a general join a friendly camp (e.g. if it is the nearest unit within 5 UD and he is forced to relocate)?
Can a general join or remain with a looted camp? (Is a looted camp still a unit?)

When unincluded generals must relocate, they have to go to the nearest friendly unit, and the rules do not restrict this to units of his own command. But, what happens if a general is attached to a unit from another command and the unit moves, does the general remain with the unit or is he left behind? Does this apply if the general has already moved that turn?

                    | Kevin, I am tired. What makes you say camps are units?
page 66 says that a camp "is treated as an enemy unit without a ZOC"

That does not make it a unit. It makes you treat it as a unit. And since all camps (by a direct literal reading of the text) are enemy units it looks to me like Commanders may not join them. Since they are treated like enemy units and all.

How is that for a resolution of the koan?

                    | There doesn't seem to be a prohibition on a commander attaching to a unit outside their command. (Ok, this might fall into the category of "obvious oversight".) Presumably the commander moves with the unit until you spend the commander's free CP to move them somewhere else.
[I neglected to read the 3d bullet on page 37, which specifically mentions joining a unit of another corps, so no oversight.]

Page 28 is pretty clear "nearest friendly" unit is specified.

I'm actually sympathetic to a commander fleeing to an uncaptured camp to avoid capture. But that is from a role playing perspective and not in the rules that I can see
