Not really Dan - it just didn't seem to be clear to me (thanks for the clarification) and the Burgundian Ordonnance variant just 'muddied' the waters.
But that ruling is clear and helpful - we are looking at a 1:1 swap.
So the Mittani (for example) could have up to 6 mixed units* using either 6 MF swd units or 6 Bowmen units, or a mix of both.
* I'll move the debate about the Mittani list to an Army List thread, as for an army that was primarily (& apparently, in some cases regularly and exclusively) armoured noble chariots, it seems to have a large number of infantry
