Should the HYW French be allowed a Burgundian ally (list 242) in 1382?
That year Phillip II the Bold (Duke of Burgundy) provided about 20% of the French army commanded Olivier de Clisson at the Battle of Roosebeke.
(Why one would want a Burgundian ally is another question.) |

Should the HYW French be allowed the Garde Archers (Garde de Corps de Roi) from 1425-1445? They seemed to have been a mixture of about 1/3 Scots men at arms and 2/3 longbowmen led by Christin de la Chambre. Say 0-2 units LMI LB Elite or MI Sw LB, perhaps optionally with stakes with the option of containing an included commander? (In the French Ordonnance list I assume they could be considered to just be some of the Gendarme archers.) |

From what I can recollect Kevin, the numbers involved were very small and the Garde de Corps de Roi only ever accompanied the sovereign into battle or on campaign (so a restriction may be required).
If you were to consider including them, maybe they'd be best depicted as:
1 x Ft Kn (ordinary)
2 x LMI LB (ordinary)
And if selected, all 3 units must be bought
An option to upgrade the Ft Kn as elite seems reasonable, but I doubt it with the archers and the addition of stakes also seems improbable pre the Ordonnances (IMHO)
Cheers
