Two related questions arising from friends game.

Question 1
Start position -
AA is an enemy unit facing down.
BB is an enemy unit facing left, directly in front of AA.
XX is an impetuous unit charging flank of unit AA

BB

Unit AA is killed. Does XX pursue 1UD to a position behind BB , or does it count as immediately contacting new enemy BB and conform to BB's flank or rear?

Question 2
Start position -
AA-EE are a line of friendly units facing down.
XX is an impetuous unit charging unit CC in the middle of the line, with units BB and DD providing support to CC.

Unit CC is killed. Does XX pursue 1UD through the line, or does it count as immediately contacting new enemy BB and DD and conform to the front of one of these?

I'll give it a go.

Q1 hits back corner of new enemy as BB was not involved in melee. Conforms to flank or rear.
Q2 these are already in contact as they engaged in the combat as supports. Pursuit can go into gap left by rout of CC.
But 99% of time will not wish to.

Nicely done.
In the second situation, I believe the Impetuous unit must pursue as it has not contacted new enemy, nor moved along the front of an enemy.
