Sorry I don't agree.
conforming after a melee (p.65) applies to "units front corner against front corner or side by side". L3 is not: not in a melee, not caugh by rear.

I have remembered another way two units could end up side by side - if one had made a Pursuit (p62) move. However the situation would be dealt with in the same way. |

Could X choose to conform per the bullet, even if it in means moving backward (and sliding obviously) so both front edge meet?

They seem quite easy to get on table, and have a pretty decisive effect in creating a secure flank and blocking off flank marches.

You're right, the quarter turn of the unit in edge-to-edge contact is a "Conformation after a melee" (p55). I blame my age! |
