|
Just to make sure we played this correctly yesterday:
A unit of medium knights has just contacted an enemy fortified camp. It did not throw the required '6' on contact to loot the camp.
Next turn the knights are hit in the rear by a unit of enemy HC impact and in the flank by a unit of enemy LC bow.
The rules state that the knights must fight their attacker as if they are in melee to their front (with the Camp).
So, we assume that they must drop a cohesion point for being hit in the rear by the enemy HC impact (?)
The knights then fight at a '0' as a base factor but -1 for the cohesion loss.
The enemy HC fights as HC v Knight (base factor) +1 & +1 for impact & +1 for rear and another +1 for the added support of the LC = total +4
If the knights survive this initial attack, the rules state that they can then conform in their next turn.
Which is an odd statement, as they are already in 'melee' with the Camp? So this 'conforming' is taking the knight away from attempting to loot the camp.
So who can they confirm to ? Either of their two attackers (?) or must they conform to the HC as it was the initial attacker (in sequence)?
If they turn to face the HC they are (presumably) now fighting on a +2 v HC (+ a -1 for their cohesion loss). Whilst the HC is on a +1 v knights and +1 for the supporting LC.
Or can they continue to attempt to loot the camp & not conform (a risky move) - and if so do they roll two dice - one for combat v the HC and one for attempting to loot the camp? Or just a single combat dice v the HC.
If they opt to continue to attempt to loot the camp, are they unaffected by any cohesion losses they might have received in the combats (NB: we thought this was the case, as it is a straight unaltered dice roll of a '6' initially to loot the Camp).
A potentially unusual situation but it has just happened in our game.
Many thanks |

If the Kn survive (unlikely), then they break off looting and conform with the main unit (the first to contact the Kn)
See fortified camp 4th bullet, p66).Â
Note, the camp does not provide support in melee, an cannot be part of a multiple attack - 5th bullet |

With the amount of 6-1 combat rolls in my favour at today's play in the competition - it is a high possibility my Knights might have survived
But thankyou - it is all as we thought.
Cheers
