In V3 the rule was:
Page 49, Shooting overhead, bp4
| Citation: | | LH can shoot in support of another LH with the same armament if it aligned corner to corner and in contact just behind. The shooting range is measured from the front edge of the front unit. |
In V4 the rule is:
Page 59, Shooting overhead, bp5
| Citation: | | LH can shoot in support of another LH with the same armament if it is aligned front corner to rear corner and facing the same direction. The shooting range is measured from the front or rear edge of the main shooting unit. |
In other words, LH can now shoot backwards overhead. Ta dah!
Also, a reminder that a 2x2 group of four LH can all shoot at the same target* - http://artdelaguerre.fr/adlg/v3/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4877 - this is one I still get wrong 
* in front of or behind the group, not to the flank, of course.

There was a post on the French forum pointing out that as the supporting unit's front corners must be aligned with the shooters rear corners they can't give support to their rear. The Tech Directorate has responded to the effect that after much thought they "consider that the face that is shooting is the front face, so support in both directions."

Support may only support another LH on his own front, no no support on sides or rear. I remembered discution, but not final decision...

Two things to check here Lionel:
1) Does this mean only 3 out of a group of 4 LH in 2 ranks (2x2) can shoot at the same target? If so this overturns the decision given in - http://artdelaguerre.fr/adlg/v3/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4877 - which was, admittedly, V3, but there hasn't been a change since.
2) The "or rear" below is wrong and needs deleting.
