Salutations, gentlefolk,
I thought it might be easier to play LADG if one had the rules - just the rules, no examples, rationales, designer's notes - down for reference.
So I copied them down from the PDF, pasted them up, laid out the paragraphs to break the lines into 'units of meaning' to make the concepts easier to grasp.
This is the first version. Am going to add headings, finish pasting up the rules, fold in the rules amendments and items from the FAQ
Would greatly appreciate your thoughts, corrections, criticisms, etc. _________________ As Governor Romney said about the Winter Olympics...

Well, here is my thought. Briefly.
Doing it to help yourself learn the rules is a good idea. The distilling down of the rules like this makes you examine them, deciding what to keep and what not to, and is an aid to learning.
Eliminating the examples and such is problematic - some of them add context showing what the rule actually means which is not obvious from the text.
Some of the text in the rules actually is meaningless as well. More in line with specific designers notes and such. Picking all that out would be difficult to impossible.
If you're going to go to all this work wait for the next edition of the rules expected out "sometime" this year.
Any public dissemination of what you did would be copyright infringement. This is not a players aide you are talking about, it is the entire doggone ruleset. |

I agree with SteveR. Regarding the copyright issue I suggest you contact Herve for permission to have your own version of the rules. He's quite amenable. Before the pdf version was publicly available I created my own pdf, gaining permission from him on condition I didn't make my version publicly available. |
