The example is questions is:
1234 facing down
ABCD facing up within 1UD of enemy 1234 and ZOC'd
EFGH facing up on the same side as ABCD
EFGH are within charge reach of 1234 and charge them as they are able to interpenetrate ABCD who are placed behind them.
The question is - is this a interpenetration of ABCD by EFGH or a displacement of them ?
If a interpenetration are ABCD then able to move normally in the same turn they were moved through. |

Doesnt it come down to whether
- ABCD need to be nudged backwards to make room for EFGH when they contact 1234 (displacement), or
- they are instead passed entirely through by EFGH as there is enough space for EFGH to fit between between 1234 and ABCD (interpenetrated)

The “if you are nudged, you can’t then move†rule is there to eliminate a bit of potential cheese whereby it was possible to nudge some of your own troops out of ZOCs, or into more advantageous possibly flanking positions when conforming to the enemy.
It’s a nice and clean solution.Â

If there if room for EFGH to fit between ABCD and 1234 without ABCD having to move it is a interpenetration.
ABCD are then able to move normally
If ABCD have to be moved in some way for EFGH to make room for EFGH to fit then it is a displacement
ABCD are not able to move |
