|
Hi
Grateful for any help on this........
My commander is attached to a unit and was included in a combat. The enemy was destroyed. The unit is now providing support to a friendly unit in an adjacent melee.
Is the commander count as being included in the new melee or can he leave the unit and join another one?
Many thanks.

Assuming that your commander was not killed with the unit he was attached to, he would bounce to the nearest friendly unit within 5 base widths. If the nearest friendly unit is already in combat, you would choose whether to include your general in that combat or not. |

Hi
The situation is that the unit he is with is not destroyed but the enemy unit it was in combat with is destroyed.
The unit he is with is supporting an adjacent friendly unit. The question is can he leave the unit he is with and join a different one?

Support does not count as melee. So the moment that your unit's front edge is no longer in contact with enemy and no enemy front edge is in contact with you, you are not in melee. Corners specifically do not count as in melee. Once you are not in melee your general is no longer fighting n the front rank. |

If your question is about the possibility to move the general to an other friendly unit after he destroyed an enemy unit during the same phase, the answer is no for 2 main reasons
1- you are still in the melee phase so you cannot perform a volontary move during this phase
2-the destroyed enemy unit will be removed during the rout and pursuit phase . So , until all the melee are resolved, the general is still engaged in melee with his unit , even if the opposing unit is destroyed. _________________ patrick lefebvre

To answer the original question.
He is not included in the neigbours mêlée
And
He will be free to move from the unit after the pursuit.
That raised a thought.
If the unit pursuit contacts another enemy to its front, it is considered a continuing mêlée for impact etc.
As the general rides along with the pursuit is the fighting general still leading at the front, so forced to fight in the new mêlée ? _________________ Player 747 don't call me Jumbo |

If the ennemy unit is destroyed in melee, it will be removed at the "rout phase" at the end of the turn. At your next activation, the general is no longer in melee and can stay with the unit or move to another (spending his free CP).
If the unit pursue and contact another unit, this is not a charge. The melee will take place in the opponent's turn, after the contacted unit perform a free conformation. Then you can choose to put your genera in the front line, or not, since it will be a different fight.
Only generals included in units are forced to fight each time. _________________ Audentes fortuna iuvat. |
