Do I have to place the corps always like this:
left wing center right wing
or can I do this as long as both left wings do not overlap:
left wing center NO right wing
2nd left wing |

You can't place a corps behind another at deployment
If you want to have some troops in reserve at deployment, it must be some troops that belong to coresponding corps.
An example :
A ligne of 6 Heavy Lancers in front and behind them a column of 3 HC impact |

Oh.... ....thats a pitty....I really liked the idea of having an entire corps in reserve.
And what makes me wondering is that I can`t find this in the english rules. In the engl. rules its only given as an example that you CAN place
left wing center right wing.
The engl. rules only ask for not overlaping rectangles. |

In french rules (p69) it is said that you must place the corps like this :
Left wing, center and right wing.
But the exact place belong to the player when he deploy his corps : You can decide that your left wing begin in the center of the table if your center is on his rigth and so on... (I hope I'm clear ? )
Of course one corps could be absent... Because of a flank march or Ambush. But a corp in Ambush , to be legal , must be in the place your corps must be.
You don't have to decide witch corps will be the ring wing, the center or the left wing when you create your army list but at the begining of the game
For example you can place your army corps (1,2 and 3) like this:
- 123
or
- 213
or
- 321
A lot of combination |
