Well the Albanians had fun!

4 great games. Albanians are an acquired taste and tough to use but offer something different to all those boring heavy metal and elephant armies whose generals are solely focused on victory.

G1 chaps from durham with hungarians - a fun game which is a blurr now but i think we ran around alot and then used our javelinmen to charge out of the rough into the flanks of knights to gain victory

g2 chaps from rotherham with venetians - we were going down big style but then we over ran the enemies' camp and flank... we were 2-0 up on the factors going into the last combat of the game. both sides needed 1 point to win the game. we lost the dice roll 5-1 and collapsed to defeat

g3 chaps from rotherham with serbians - we played like buffoons and our opponents played like huddersfield town (stylish, exciting to watch and victorious every time) sending our small knight command into combat unsupported was never going to work... it was annyilated quickly and the command behind it also went down as easily as a premier league footballer blown over in the wind. A deserved victory to the father and son combo

g4 more chaps from rotherham with french hyw.. 19 knights, mostly elite... what a fun army to play with and against. A great game where the power of elite heavy knights was shown time and again. Their impetuosity didnt really help them though. Victory was achieved by the good guys with the very last dice roll of the game

So a mixed bag of results. I would recommend the albanians altho it takes time to get them right. A great army let down by the generals in charge. The weekend was great fun and thanks to Dene and the organisers and all our opponents for relaxed and fun games. Its just a shame the rock pub has closed down and all the locals wanted to fight us whenever we walked into a town centre pub.

28 + 23 + 93 + 88 =/= 132 Rolling Eyes

But apart from that Gordon and I would like to thank Dene and the BAD wargamers for another excellent competition.

Dave
