Another case from Sgian-Dubh.
ABX
....Y
A and B are friendly units, one aligned behind the other but facing opposite directions. B is in frontal combat with X, and Y is giving support to X.
The phasing player wanted to make a charge with Y going straight forward to touch the rear corner of A, claiming a rear/flank charge. I ruled against on the grounds that A and B are effectively a column (even if facing different directions) and the FAQ specifies only the front unit of a column is a valid target.
Is this correct? |

Have you created a novel way to protect both flanks?
Are both the head of there own column?
How is Y giving support? _________________ Player 747 don't call me Jumbo |

X and Y are both facing B.
They are also effectively facing the rear of A.Â
So in its turn, Y may charge A, Conforming on the flank of A since B is obscuring the rear. (See third diag p51 unit E) |

They are not a group as defined by p 10. 2nd para last sentence. "Facing in the same direction".
So what flows from that is wrong. |
