hi guys
there are obviously different opinions. Dave's justification may be valid, but is not self evident from the rules. How do we move to an official ruling rather than various players conflicting opinions |

The "justification" I gave was more of a "by the way" comment. I happen to believe the rule is fairly clear - ie could perhaps be a bit clearer.
If you want a ruling the best way to go about it is to drop a line to one of the Technical Directors, say Hubert "commodore" Bretagne.

After re reading of rules, i have to made a precision.
As foot and mounted troops are submited to
different compulsory minimum move after charging, if they roll 1 on pursuiing roll dice, then:
Elephant must made 2UD move,
and HI can only do 1 UD move,
so group is broken at the end of charging move.
It' one of the reasons we rarely make group including HI and elephants. _________________ "Quand on a pas de technique, faut y aller à la zob"

So here is the hierarchy of who you listen to:
1) DT ruling -- always
2) a reliable Frenchman -- Nearly always. (lionel qualifies)
3) Me --almost nearly always.
4) Madaxeman -- only if he is citing one of the above
5) All other Holders of UK or Commonwealth passports. -- not very often if ever.
We will get the DT to officially respond for you. |

I like reading English rules question. At first, because a lot of them have been treated 4 or 5 years ago, i feel become younger. Secondly, because british has a approaching of rule absolutly disconcerting for a french, looking at cheesies before starting to play. Différents ways of life, isn't it? _________________ "Quand on a pas de technique, faut y aller à la zob"

Admittedly it is from a small sample size and only with a group of friends with the Bactrians I use a group that has both Pike and Elephants in it and I have found it quite effective and usually makes a mess of the enemy group that it hits. |

So on this one, looks like the almost always reliable Lionel came around to the early call by a mere Commonwealth passport holder.
Mmmm, or was I holding my EU passport? Significant that US passport holders don’t make the reliability hierarchy...

There is one and that is sufficient. Just like the motto for the Texas Rangers. "One riot. One ranger."
The US has a hallmark policy. "We care enough to send the very best." |
