I suspect the from 1415 longbow description was put in out of habit for clarity. But you appear correct, they will need the Pre-1415 only.

As the french get MI longbow from 1445 in the ordinance list, could these be in the allies for Aragon and Castile from 1415?
As they don't have to be English archers.
Unless someone can claim all ordinance archers in the french army were English?

The From 1415 Medium swordsmen longbow are a separate row from the Only English Longbowmen. They're not specified as English, French or Navarrese, so by the usual way the lists work they can be included in any allied corps from 1415 onwards.

Or maybe not, who knows?

Does this mean that from 1479-1494 Unified Spain must have 2 exactly Pikemen, but may optionally also have 0-4 (unreplaced) HI Sp Mediocre (with up to upgraded to Ordinary and/or Armored)?

What about from 1495? Can you have 2-6 pikemen and 0-4 HI Sp so long as the total does not exceed 6? Or are HI Sp not permitted from 1495 as they are (all ?) replaced?

Regarding Militia HI Sp the list states 2-6 for the category (Type) at different times these are subject to upgrades but the numerical criteria stays the same. Under United Spain at a certain time period you can have 2 Pike, 2 Polearm, and 2 Spearmen as upgraded Militia.

It will teach me to reply from memory it is the Crown of Aragon from 1450 that gets 2 spearmen, 2 pike and 2 polearm as militia upgrades. Right list wrong sub list.

Yes, I do wonder why United Spain shouldn’t be allowed to keep using Aragon’s halberdiers, I’d assume something similar from Italians or landsknechtes would have been available. But the list doesn’t seem to allow them - in fact the United Spanish list pre-1495 seems pretty sparse.

I much prefer the Crown of Aragon option for the mid/ late 15th century rather than the United Spain option.
