If you take Christian Knights - Medium Knights impact, commanded by El Cid does El Cid need to an included commander with one of the Knight bases or do the Knights just need to be in his Corps? |

I don't think either is required.
The army list says that the Christian Knights may be Medium Knights Impact "if commanded by El Cid"
I think the "commanded" in this context means the Army is commanded by El Cid and not the knights themselves.
compare this with the notes under list 290 about the Spanish option for example. There the Spanish troops must be in Cortez's command because of the note. |

Thanks for your help, I might look giving my Normans and option for an El Cid list. I am using Museum's Z range for the Normans does anyone know which brand of Arab cavalry goes well with the Z range? Did look at Museum's non-Z range of Arab cavalry but I do not like them. |

Mirliton 15mm Muslim range is very nice: https://www.mirliton.it/historical-15mm/muslim-1096-1350
But I'm not sure how they'd match against Museum 'Z' range - which are quite big figures for 15mm.
Personally I'd use the Mirliton CXIIth heavy cavalry figures from their Crusades range as the Spanish knights: https://www.mirliton.it/historical-15mm/crusades
Cheers
