It is quite clear that impetuous units do not have to "continue" a charge if it would result in an "exception".
I must concede that it is moot if they do continue whether they ha ... |

1. There is no such thing as an “impetuous charge†under ADLG.
2. There are impetuous units - which are ALWAYS impetuous throughout the game.
3. Impetuous units are SOMETIMES required to mak ... |

I think we do understand each other.Â
We agree that units not in contact should not be forced to enter the jaws of death - normal units need not charge, and the exception for impetuous units allows ... |

@Ramses - I’m simply using the uncontrolled charge rules as an example of where the rule writer has made it clear that he doesn’t want units to be sucked into a jaws of death situation.
My view ... |

Well I don’t like it. Effectively creates a vortex of death for simple supporters who lose their neighbours in the enemy’s turn, and run out of CP in their next turn. It’s completely inconsisten ... |

Does anyone know where to find the rule allowing a unit not to conform after melee if it would end up with an enemy hard flanking it in in melee support?

While many of the above arguments are theoretical, consider modern displays, especially trooping the colours, and marching bands. These all show how trained units can change formation.Â

Anyone who did Cadets at school knows a platoon (say 3 ranks each of 10 men) quarter turn from line to column is very simple.
In contrast, a platoon wheel is more difficult. You have to ensure the ... |
