Some excellent tactical suggestions for Hvy Art here. Thanks.
I think Hazelbark absolutely nails how to use them. And I love the image of the airborne camel clinging to a cannonball! |

I think the heavy art would make an interesting addition to a largely mounted bow army.
I don't recall seeing many uses of heavy art in online battle reports. Would love to look at any if they've b ... |

Interesting thoughts, thanks.
I was considering 1-2 stone throwers with the Avars.
(Also noticed that the dismounted Gepids can provide the Avars with some tougher foot, even with 3 cohesion ins ... |

Heavy artillery, the big stuff. 8UD range, no move, pivot only @10pts.
Would you use it? And if you could field 2, would you be tempted to use 2?
The answer might be, 'it depends on the army'. I ... |

The extra depth is only an issue if your regular opponent is a bit of a knob.Â
This can usually be avoided by careful choice of opponent.Â

Yes, but is an 8cm depth an issue? The diagram on pg8 of the rules shows a frontage 4:6 depth ratio option for pikemen. However, for 28mm it reads as though 6cm is the preferred depth (and not 8 or 9 ... |

6cm frontage x 8cm depth. OK? Looks OK by the rules; just wondering if the full 8cm depth causes any issues in game play?
I came across these pix of what appears to be a 6cm x 8cm base diorama styl ... |

Is it OK to model non-included commanders of chariot armies, e.g. Egyptian, Assyrian, etc., in chariots?
They could be distinguished from a chariot unit base by giving the commander in his chariot ... |
